Community Design Charrette

Oct 4-7

The Robert E. Miller Expo Centre - Conference Rooms A & B

The Community Design Charrette will be a multi-day series of presentations and workshops aimed at providing information and opportunities to weigh in on the Connect the Junction TOD Master Plan. Throughout the weekend there will be opportunities to drop by, look at project boards, and provide feedback, as well as presentations, design exercises, and a site tour!

Friday, Oct 4

6pm: Homecoming Game

Find us near the ticket booth at the Homecoming game to learn more about the project, ask us questions, and find out how to be involved!

Saturday, Oct 5

10am-1pm: Kick-off Presentation +

Design Workshop

Morning refreshments provided!

 

Hear a presentation from the project team about work done so far and provide feedback on challenges and opportunities in the area. Next, participate in activities to envision design solutions for Pearl Street, Park Street, and the Five Corners.

Sunday, Oct 6

12pm-5pm: Open Studio

1 pm: Site Tour

Join us for a tour of the project area at 1pm to look at existing conditions and talk about opportunities for growth and improvement. Stop by anytime during Open Studio hours to take a look at project boards, talk to the project team, and share your thoughts on how the area can grow thoughtfully, diversify housing options, and become friendlier for pedestrians and cyclists!

Monday, Oct 7

12-5pm: Open Studio

6:30pm: Closing Presentation

Drop by to learn about the project and share your thoughts. At 6:30pm, the project team will share findings from the charrette weekend and collect additional feedback from attendees.

The Connect the Junction team went live on Junction City News!  We talk about how the project is being funded, what the goals of "transit-oriented development" are, and how you can get involved. We also discuss some fun questions like our favorite pedestrian streets and what kind of public space improvements we'd most like to see in the City Center.
