Community Design Charrette

This 4-day event will include presentations on the Connect the Junction project background, workshops to discuss the challenges and opportunities in the area, and a tour of the site. Most of these activities will take place at the Robert E. Miller Expo Centre. You can attend all or part of the weekend activities!

Friday, October 4

Come see us at the Homecoming game! Chat with us about challenges and opportunities in Essex Junction, read about what's been done so far, or just grab a piece of candy from us and head to the game.

Saturday, October 5:

Kick-off Presentation and Design Workshop 10am-1pm

at the Robert E. Miller Expo Centre, Conference Rooms A & B

Breakfast refreshements provided! Hear a presentation from the project team about work done so far and provide feedback on challenges and opportunities in the area. Next, participate in activities to envision design solutions for Pearl Street, Park Street, and the Five Corners.

Sunday, October 6

12pm-5pm: Open Studio Hours at the Robert E. Miller Expo Centre, Conference Rooms A & B

1pm: Site Tour - Meet at the Five Corners in the lot in front of the Firebird Cafe

Join us for a tour of the project area at 1pm to look at existing conditions and talk about opportunities for growth and improvement. This tour will meet and begin at the Five Corners in the lot in front of the Firebird Cafe.

Stop by anytime during Open Studio hours to take a look at project boards, talk to the project team, and share your thoughts on how the area can grow thoughtfully, diversify housing options, and become friendlier for pedestrians and cyclists!

Monday, October 7:

10am: Crescent Connector Ribbon Cutting + Site Tour Meet at the parking lot along the connector, across from Bailey Spring & Chassis

12pm-5pm: Open Studio Hours at the Robert E. Miller Expo Centre, Conference Rooms A & B

6:30-8pm: Closing Presentation at the Robert E. Miller Expo Centre, Conference Rooms A & B

In the morning, attend the ribbon cutting for the Crescent Connector and take a short tour of the new construction and Five Corners area. We'll look at opportunities for new public space and destinations along the Connector and collect feedback about your vision for the area.

Throughout the day (12-5pm) drop by Studio Hours to learn about the project and share your thoughts. We'll have maps to look at and draw on, and can answer questions you have about next steps for the project.

At 6:30pm, the project team will give a presentation on findings from the charrette weekend and collect additional feedback from attendees.
